Montero Medical Missions (“MMM,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you visit monteromedicalmissions.org, submit a Community Needs Assessment, contact us, donate, register for an event, purchase a ticket, volunteer, or otherwise interact with us.
Information we collect
Information you provide. Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect your name, organization, title, email address, telephone number, mailing address, donation or purchase details, event selections, volunteer interests, messages, and other information you choose to provide.
Community Needs Assessment information. Our assessment may collect contact and organizational information; descriptions of communities, populations, health or humanitarian needs, local resources, partnerships, risks, priorities, readiness, and requested support; and documents or photographs you voluntarily upload. Please do not submit patient records, Social Security numbers, financial account credentials, or personally identifiable health information. Submit information about another person only when you have authority to do so.
Payments. Donations and ticket purchases are processed by third-party payment providers, including WooCommerce and Stripe or other processors displayed at checkout. MMM receives transaction details needed to administer the donation, purchase, receipt, event, or refund, but does not intentionally store complete payment-card numbers or card security codes on its website.
Automatically collected information. When you use our website, we and our service providers may automatically collect IP address, browser and device information, referring pages, pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, dates and times of visits, cookie identifiers, and website interaction or diagnostic data.
How we use information
- Operate, maintain, secure, and improve our website and programs.
- Review community needs, evaluate mission opportunities, prioritize resources, and follow up with applicants or partner organizations.
- Process donations, ticket purchases, event registrations, receipts, refunds, and related communications.
- Respond to questions, requests, volunteer interest, and partnership inquiries.
- Send operational messages and, where permitted, mission updates, fundraising messages, or event information. You may unsubscribe from promotional email using the link in the message.
- Prevent fraud, misuse, security incidents, and technical problems.
- Comply with legal, accounting, reporting, and nonprofit governance obligations.
Cookies and analytics
Our website and embedded services may use cookies and similar technologies for essential site functions, preferences, security, analytics, forms, shopping-cart functions, and payment processing. We may use Google services, WordPress tools, and other analytics or embedded-content providers. You can control many cookies through your browser, although disabling them may prevent parts of the website from working correctly.
How we disclose information
We may disclose information to MMM personnel, board members, volunteers, reviewers, local partners, medical-mission partners, or other organizations when reasonably necessary to evaluate or carry out a request, project, event, donation, or mission. We also use service providers that host or support our website, forms, customer-relationship tools, email, cloud storage, analytics, payment processing, accounting, security, and communications. These may include WordPress and its hosting providers, GoHighLevel/LeadConnector, WooCommerce, Stripe, Google, and vendors integrated into the services you use.
We may also disclose information when required by law; to protect MMM, our users, or others; to investigate misuse or security incidents; or in connection with a merger, restructuring, transfer of assets, or similar organizational transaction. We do not sell personal information for money.
Community Needs Assessment review
Submitting an assessment does not guarantee funding, services, a mission, or a partnership. Assessment information may be reviewed and discussed by authorized MMM representatives and appropriate prospective partners. Please clearly identify information that is confidential, and avoid uploading information that is unnecessary for evaluating the community need.
Data retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including program planning, donor and transaction records, legal and accounting requirements, dispute resolution, security, and maintaining organizational history. Retention periods vary by record type. We may delete, de-identify, or aggregate information when it is no longer reasonably needed.
Data security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No website, transmission, or storage system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Do not use the website or assessment to transmit emergency information. For an emergency, contact the appropriate local emergency service.
Your choices and requests
You may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information you submitted, or object to certain uses, subject to applicable law and records we must retain. You may unsubscribe from promotional email at any time. To make a privacy request, email shane@monteromm.org. We may need to verify your identity and authority before completing a request.
Children’s privacy
Our website and assessment are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through these services. Do not submit identifiable information about a child unless it is necessary, lawful, and you have appropriate authority and consent.
External links and embedded services
Our website may link to or embed third-party websites and services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and MMM is not responsible for those practices.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as our services or practices change. We will post the revised version on this page and update the “Last updated” date.
